Ah, this is my first post in so long! Things have been crazy busy, but I just had to share a few photos from our recent trip to Negril, Jamaica. I attempted to surprise Reese with a trip to Jamaica for his 30th birthday, but of course, I spoiled the surprise six months ago with my big mouth. After an amazing, but adventurous honeymoon, we both said that we wanted to head to an island for our next vacation, and I figured his birthday was the perfect excuse to escape for a little R & R. I was super excited and once I spilled the beans, Reese was too.
Last Sunday, we hopped on a plane and flew to Jamaica for four days. The flight was super easy and as soon as we landed, we were in total Caribbean relaxation mode. Jamaicans are so chill and friendly, and you know you're in for a good time when your shuttle driver stops at a dive bar and tells you to pick up some cold Red Stripes for the ride.
We decided to forgo the all-inclusive route and stay at a more authentic, boutique Jamaican resort called the Rockhouse. My thoughts? BOOK A VACATION HERE ASAP. I can't say enough good things. The place itself was gorgeous, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the views were simply breathtaking. We also experienced probably the best spa experience of our lives, ate a ton of delicious Jamaican food, and drank probably one too many dirty bananas. It was the perfect little getaway for us both to relax, recharge, and enjoy a bit of a second honeymoon.
One day, we went out on one of these glass bottom boats and went snorkeling with the coolest Jamaican around, Vincent. We had so much fun, and even spotted an octopus! (Sidenote: I also got stung by a jellyfish and Reese had to drag me back to the boat. After my initial panic attack in the middle of the sea, I was totally fine. Even when I'm super relaxed, I'm still apparently a hypochondriac.) It's not a Caribbean vacation without coconuts and cuban cigars...
Oh, and we got a couples massage, right here. Pretty amazing. We also ventured into the town of Negril and found a few great spots, like this cozy little beach bar called "Chill Awhile." We're already planning our return! The Rockhouse is seriously a little slice of heaven. Until then, I'm sure going to miss these sunsets. Happy 30th Birthday Reese!! xo Court
