Since I'm heading down to Columbia tomorrow and attending a Gamecock football game while I'm there, I thought it would be fitting to highlight a few of my favorite tailgating essentials! If you haven't been to an SEC tailgate before, they are pretty serious. Everyone gets dressed up, there's always good food and PLENTY of booze, and the whole town pretty much shuts down to watch their team play. It's pretty amazing, and I can't wait! Anyway, here are a few of my faves. Oh, and remember - a true South Carolina girl always has a koozie in her purse, just in case. 1. Bloody Mary mix from Fat and Juicy, 2. Needlepoint flasks from Smathers & Branson, 3. FYRKAT Charcoal grill from Bodum, 4. University Ballet flats from Lillybee, 5. Beverage Coozie from Vineyard Vines, 6. Serving tray from Garnet and Black Traditions
Happy Halloween everyone! Last night I went with a bunch of friends to a haunted house in Philly, even though I hate being scared. It wasn't terrible. Sure, I jumped and screamed a little, but I think watching The Walking Dead has softened the blow a little. One word of advice? Don't mock the people who work there. I told one zombie lady that her asylum-style head cage would actually make a great wedding centerpiece. I was serious - it looked like a vintage lantern. She didn't seem to like that comment though and tried to make me go through the house by myself. Nice try, crazy lady. Not happening. Anyway, today's post is dedicated to a first birthday invitation I designed for my godchild and soon-to-be niece, Lindsey. Reese's sister, Sara, wanted a pink and gold theme, so I worked with the colors and her Pinterest board to design this sweet yet simple invite. I love the colors (they're actually my wedding colors!) and the fonts I found are adorable. Can't wait to see Sara's amazing decorating at the party!
If you ever like what you see and would like me to design something for you, feel free to email me at email@example.com. I'm working on getting an Etsy shop together, but until then I'm doing freelance projects and building my portfolio!
So, I just realized that I am getting married 6 months from tomorrow (insert panic face here). I still have so much to do! Mostly little things, but it is definitely crunch time. I did just get my proposal from my florist (Whitney at Branch Design Studio) and I love, love, LOVE it! She used my Pinterest board as inspiration, and her vision is perfect. Blush peonies, touches of cotton (for the Cotton Dock!), mason jars overflowing with baby's breath...I could go on and on. Seriously, what did brides-to-be do before Pinterest? It has saved my life. Anyway, to celebrate today's milestone I'm providing another little wedding teaser. This is a custom typography map of Charleston that I designed for our wedding weekend. In addition to mapping out the greater Charleston area, I included our wedding location, Boone Hall Plantation. Also, for those of you attending, we'll be staying in Isle of Palms for the week/weekend - a hop, skip and a jump from the venue. This design will be printed on the welcome bags, most likely. Hope you like it!
