Typography Tuesday {8}

Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend! I certainly did - it was actually pretty relaxing. I definitely didn't take on the Black Friday crowds, so that certainly helps the relaxation factor. Stay tuned for a few holiday gift guides in the next couple of weeks! I plan to highlight awesome yet wallet-friendly gifts for both guys and girls. In the mean time, here is a little typography in honor of the cold weather and one of my favorite holiday songs:COLDFonts used: Simon Script and KG Hard Candy Solid

California: Day 1 {Santa Barbara}

Reese and I had an AMAZING time in California. Everything was perfect - the weather, the scenery, the company...it was just what I needed. We flew into LAX on Friday night with Reese's brother, Bert and his wife Christine (who were fabulous travel buddies!). Obviously, as soon as we got off the plane we drove straight to In-n-Out Burger. BEST burgers ever. We woke up Saturday morning in beautiful Santa Barbara. Reese's cousin Gina, her husband Dave, and their kids Trevor and Kelly have a beautiful house there and they are wonderful people. They were so hospitable and made our trip truly special - I can't thank them enough! Their house is nestled on the side of a hill with breathtaking views that offered complete serenity. Look at Reese - such a stud. DSCN0007

We went to an awesome farmer's market where we picked up fresh veggies, cheese, fruit and snacks for lunch - everything was so delicious. Fresh olives, walnut oil, roasted peach jam and coconut roasted almonds were just a few of the goodies we picked up. I absolutely loved the packing of these jams and marmalades! DSCN0022

Later that day, we took the Kosmo family dog, Riley, to the beach. Such a great day - the photos do all the talking.

That night, we ventured into the "Funk Zone" - yes that is the actual name - for dinner and drinks. We went to The Lark for dinner and it was incredible. Each dish was just as amazing as the first, and the cocktails were divine. The atmosphere was adorable - vintage furniture, galvanized tubs and exposed beams filled the restaurant. They also had a fantastic wine room in the back where we had drinks after dinner.  The "Funk Zone" actually held true to it's name - it was eclectic, trendy and unique, and we had a blast!

Frenchie Friday

Happy Friday everyone! I'm looking forward to a nice, relaxing weekend before heading to California next week! Reese and I are flying out to spend some time with his family in Santa Barbara. Can't wait - a little California sunshine is exactly what I'll need after this dreary weekend...

Even Franklin is depressed about the weather! Rain = no chasing squirrels. Poor guy...picstitch
